A Serpentine Design: Casetify Basilisk Case Review

Casetify is known for their fancy designs and collaborations, shockproof protection, and a high price point. As a late adopter to the trend in town, I am finally here to pen my thoughts on my new phone case.

The Basilisk Case

I was an avid user of Elago products until Casetify eventually captured me with their constant advertising. I have always had an eye on the Harry Potter series and I caved to their gorgeous Basilisk Case.

Unfortunately, the case does not completely cover my Samsung phone.

I wasn’t too pleased when I first saw the product, but I supposed it’s on me not to do any due diligence before making the purchase. I had been expecting a mirror case as stated on the website, but the product had come as an embossed design on a matte surface.

Casetify offered to do a refund or an exchange for me, honouring their 10-days no-fuss return policy. They had also explained that there was indeed a mirror case beneath the design. (Although I am not exactly sure how that works, but kudos for the quick responses).

In the end, I kept the case simply for its gorgeous design. The colours are vibrant, almost iridescent under the light, and the artwork has more than made up for my disappointment. The sturdy case has also kept my phone scratch-free thus far.

Final Verdict

Honestly, I am still on the fence regarding Casetify's phone cases. While I love the design and the protection it boasts, the bulkiness and high price point set me back.

Ultimately, it is still a yes for me for the Harry Potter series and I'd definitely hope to see more designs for Samsung models.
